The artist behind Devi Arts
Master of traditional Indian art forms. Fine Arts graduate. Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
I grew up surrounded by colour, ritual, and the patient discipline of Indian artistic tradition.
Long before I taught my first class, I was learning to see — to look at gold leaf, at temple walls, at the line of a single brushstroke, and understand why it had been made that way for centuries.
My academic path took an unusual route: a Computer Science engineering degree, then a Drawing Certification, then a Masters in Fine Arts from Chandigarh University. Technical precision and deep creative training — both shape how I teach today. My students don’t just copy. They understand.
I founded Devi Arts in Maidenhead with one purpose: to bring authentic Indian art traditions — Tanjore, Mysore, Kerala Mural, Madhubani — to students in the UK. These are forms that are hundreds of years old, technically demanding, and breathtakingly beautiful. They deserve a place in British art education.
Alongside these heritage forms, I teach contemporary techniques — Resin Art, Acrylic Pouring, Mandala — and everything in between. From age 6 to age 70, beginner to confident, the door is the same. Come in. Sit down. Let’s make something.

“Art is not a talent. It is a skill. And like any skill, it can be learned, practised, and developed at any age. I teach the way art has always been taught in the classical tradition: starting with fundamentals, moving to technique, and then freeing the student to develop their own voice. A 7-year-old and a 40-year-old can both be beginners. Both deserve the same rigour and the same encouragement.”
