/ 01 — The Artist

The artist behind Devi Arts.

Master of traditional Indian art forms. Fine Arts graduate. Based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Welcome to Devi Arts. We bring a unique art gallery and art programme designed for an amazing experience — an opportunity to explore and develop confidence in creativity and artistic ability. We work with small groups of students at a time, with a dedicated passion and commitment to helping educate while unleashing the inner creative side.

Meet the Artist. A dedicated art instructor with 16+ years of experience, adept at encouraging creativity while monitoring individual student progress — having taught students up to 65 years of age. Committed to a comprehensive education in Fine Arts and art history.

I am a passionate creative artist, entrepreneur, and art teacher with over 16 years of experience, who developed an interest in art and practiced it from childhood.

My path took an unusual route: a Computer Science degree, then a Drawing Certification, then a Masters in Fine Arts from Chandigarh University — technical precision and deep creative training both shape how I teach today. I founded Devi Arts in Maidenhead to bring authentic Indian art traditions to students in the UK, teaching from a small studio just off Garden Boulevard — with every class also available online for those further afield. From age 6 to age 70, beginner to confident, the door is the same. Come in. Sit down. Let’s make something.

Extensive research has gone into restoring and reviving dying traditional Indian art forms — including Tanjore painting, Mysore painting, and Kerala Mural painting — using natural, eco-friendly ingredients sourced from across India.

My work spans oil painting, acrylics, watercolours, glass painting, sketching, and decoupage, and has been exhibited at venues across the country.

Many of my students have gone on to become self-entrepreneurs with their own creative practices, guided along the way to become confident and efficient in every process involved in making a perfect painting.

Learn painting the right way. A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning. Art is a colourful expression and imagination of an individual, giving life through multiple mediums.

“Art is not a talent. It is a skill. And like any skill, I teach by starting with fundamentals, then moving to a technique. After it has been taught, I support the independent artistic development of each student. A 7-year-old and a 40-year-old can both be beginners. Both deserve the same rigour and the same encouragement.”
